Since Trump started to threat China with 301 and then 323, the fear of trade war started to accelerated. As matter of fact Trump did not bring any new arguments of how to create jobs and revive American economy except repeating the accusations of cheap labor and intelligent rights from the past to other nations. America was able to use that tactic to force other nations for comprise; but will it work this time with China?

Indeed, at the early years. China was known for its labor intensive pure manufacturing works, but gradually it moved from OEM to ODM. Today many China companies already have already developed and possessed many advanced technologies. From demanding technology transfer, today China government is also setting police and guidelines to protect their intelligent properties and copy rights.

The world trade war that Trump is playing won’t bring or accelerate the economic recovery, neither for their market nor for the world. According to Wikipedia, Trump did not serve in the military during the Vietnam War. While in college from 1964 to 1968, he obtained four student deferments. In 1966, he was deemed fit for service based upon a military medical examination, and in 1968 was briefly classified as eligible to serve by a local draft board. In September of that year, he was given a medical deferment, which he later attributed to heel spurs.  In 1969, he received a high number in the draft lottery, which gave him a low probability to be called to military service. No wonder he has such low knowledge from the most famous quote from Sun Tzu:

If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Not only US government deems to create more jobs and revive their economic situation, so as to the rest of the world, including China. Affraid China won’t work, it is better to strengthen co-operation. Accelerate any form of trade war or boarder conflict require nothing but impulsive stupidity, but sustain peace and prosperity development require sufficient strengths to build and secure Win-Win partnerships with actions.

The recent visits to China broaden my view about China. Even though during the trip, I complained the inconvenient for not being able to access to FB, Instagram or Google, but on the other hand, it gave me to discover different views, news coverage and information from the English news channel, CGTN. When I spent less time with FB, I have more time to strengthen my contacts and observation in China.

When American claim they are fighting against terrorists, but how come they don’t realize verbal threats and actions taken to trade war and potential cold war are another form of terrorist actions? I wonder if Trump could solve these problems he created. I am not economic or political analysist, but even I have no doubt to draw clear and simple conclusions for what do we want, regardless how we are differed:

  1. The world needs a stable and reliable China
  2. During my recent visits to different provinces, I have the privilege to witness how the local and people are trying their best for the eco environment. It is far from perfect, because there are still more to do. Instead of criticizing them, we perhaps try our best to encourage them to strengthen the self sustainable efforts to protect the eco-balance in environment
  3. we should strengthen our collective efforts to enhance the human to human contact.

Won’t surprise the news “China to strengthen security, management of scientific data” might upset some innocent information liberalization idealists but it does not upset me at all, actually I fully agree and endorse this decision. The reason is quite simple and straight forwards: equality is must to forge and sustain a Win-Win cooperation for a longer period. For those who worry about the privacy protection, my answer will be : When I have nothing to hide, I have no fear.
